Fun Fridays at the Farm

Fun Fridays at the Farm

If you pass the Piper & Leaf headquarters in Lacey’s Spring on a Friday night, you might be surprised by the crowd. Cars line the driveway, music carries across the field, and there’s a steady hum of conversation and laughter as people gather from across North Alabama. What started as something small has turned into one of our favorite rhythms of the week, and it’s quickly become a place people plan to be when Friday rolls around!

For several years, we gathered on the fourth Friday of each month for our Makers Markets. People came to shop local, but over time, we noticed folks weren’t just shopping. They were settling in with their drink, letting their kids roam, and staying longer than they had planned.

It became clear that what was happening out here wasn’t just a market. Three seasons ago, we decided once a month just wasn’t enough! What began as a simple decision has grown into a full season of Friday nights at the Farm, where each week brings something a little different, but the heart behind it stays the same.

1st & 3rd Fridays | Barn Dance Nights (5–9P)

Beginning the first Friday in April, the barn fills up with music, movement, and a whole lot of energy. On the first and third Fridays, Barn Dance nights bring people together in a lively and easygoing atmosphere, whether you know what you’re doing or not.

Boots hit the floor, hands start clapping, and before long, even the hesitant ones are pulled into the rhythm. These nights have quickly become a favorite, for both young and old alike. After seeing how much these dances were loved, we knew once a month wasn’t going to be enough. Now, there are two chances each month to step on in and join the fun!

2nd Fridays | Family Fun Night (5–8P)

The second Friday of each month is set aside for a slower, more relaxed evening that’s centered around families. The farm opens up for yard games and plenty of space for kids to play while parents get a chance to sit and visit.

There’s no rush to move from one thing to the next, and the pace of the evening reflects that. Hot dogs on the grill, kids running across the grass, and groups gathered in easy conversation make this a steady favorite for those looking for a simple night out together. And of course, the tea shop stays open later than normal, so you can get your jar refilled with whatever blend fits your fancy that night.

4th Fridays | Makers Market (5–8P)

Starting on the fourth Fridays of the month, our Makers Market takes us back to where it all began. Returning for its 6th season, this evening brings together some of the best local talents in our community. From butchers and bakers to candlestick makers, these evenings are a chance to shop local, meet the people behind the products, and enjoy the kind of atmosphere that started it all.

If you’re a vendor interested in joining us, you can find registration details and apply through our website. We’re always glad to welcome new faces to the market!

5th Fridays | Mini Makers Market (5–8P)

On the months that give us a fifth Friday, we set aside the evening for something a little different. The Mini Makers Market is dedicated to encouraging young entrepreneurs and up-and-coming artists in our community who are ready to share what they’ve been working on.

Tables fill with handmade goods, early business ideas, and plenty of creativity, all from those just getting started. It’s a chance for them to test out their ventures, and for the community to come alongside and support them in a meaningful, tangible way. Our kids think these are the best nights of the year, and they work hard for weeks in preparation!

We’ve been blessed to grow up in families that encouraged our entrepreneurial spirit and helped shape where we are today. This fifth-Friday night feels like our chance to give back and let the younger creatives shine!

Come Stay Awhile

Fun Fridays run from April through October at our Farm HQ in Lacey’s Spring. Each week carries its own theme, but the heart behind it remains the same: creating a place where people can gather, connect, and build community together.

You’ll find us at 997 Hwy 231, Lacey’s Spring, AL, with something FREE happening every Friday evening and plenty of space to settle in for a while. Whether you come for the dancing, the family time, or simply to sit with a glass of tea and take in the evening, we’re glad to have you here.
